I’ve found 6 delicious iced coffee recipes for summer. When the weather heats up, you may want a cold beverage.
Whether you prefer hot or cold, coffee is one of those daily routines many people look forward to. It is a time to unwind, to contemplate, or to ponder life. Make lists or read a book. Maybe go to the window with your beverage and watch the birds in the trees outside.

All in all, making coffee and drinking it is a soothing morning ritual to begin or end your day. Or maybe you like to sit down with a cup of coffee between household tasks or work in the middle of the afternoon.
I particularly love the taste of caramel iced coffee, and I even use caramel syrup in my hot coffee during the wintertime.
I’ve never been a Starbucks customer because of their high prices. But I do occasionally order a caramel iced coffee at McDonald’s, and it’s so good. Also cheap!
Why Choose Iced Coffee?
Iced coffee is a refreshing beverage that cools you off and gives you a little caffeine boost. Its lower acidity is gentler on the stomach compared to hot coffee, making it a popular year-round choice. Plus, it’s highly customizable.
1. Classic Homemade Iced Coffee
This caramel iced coffee recipe consists of chilled coffee or cold brew, milk, whipping cream, and caramel sauce. This recipe was created by Alexandra at Bright-Eyed Baker.

2. Iced Vanilla Latte Recipe
Vanilla syrup will give your beverage that classic coffee shop flavor. You can add more cream to make it smoother, or more coffee to make it bolder.

This Iced Vanilla Latte recipe was created by One Sweet Appetite. An iced vanilla latte is cold coffee made with espresso (or strong coffee), milk, vanilla syrup, and ice. It’s creamy, sweet, and much smoother than regular iced coffee because milk softens the bold flavor.
3. Decaf Iced Coffee

Brew Buzz Blend has a recipe for decaf cold brew coffee. Though it’s decaffeinated, it’s smooth and richly flavored. It might not give you that caffeine buzz, but it will definitely be refreshing on a hot summer day.
4. Homemade Iced Mocha Recipe

You can find this mocha recipe at Cozy Corner Charm. This blogger says the chocolate is what makes or breaks this recipe. She likes to use chocolate syrup.
Here’s what she says about the milk you use:
- Whole milk gives the creamiest result.
- 2% milk keeps it lighter but still smooth.
- Oat milk works especially well with chocolate.
- Almond milk keeps things lighter but less creamy.
- Half-and-half makes it richer, almost café-style.
So choose your preferred flavors.
5. Brown Sugar Vanilla Iced Coffee

This Brown Sugar Vanilla Iced Coffee was created by Scoop and Sprinkle. If you like the taste of brown sugar and vanilla, this cold beverage may be for you!
6. Churro con Chocolate Iced Coffee

Folgers® Churro con Chocolate Iced Coffee combines Folgers Instant Iced coffee with chocolate, cinnamon, and a whipped cream flourish. The Folgers website has lots of iced coffee recipes for you to consider.
The Blender I Use
I like the smoothie maker/blender below from Amazon. It is the KOIOS 900W Smoothie Blender.
I often make iced coffees and smoothies with this blender. This blender is small and doesn’t take up much room on my kitchen counter. Plus, it was a reasonable price and got good reviews. But you could also blend the ingredients by hand.
You might also try adding spices to your drink, such as cinnamon or nutmeg. Some coffee drinkers like to add a bit of sweetened condensed milk or half-and-half. This addition would make it creamier and sweeter.
What is the Difference Between Iced Coffee & Cold Brew?
The biggest difference between cold brew and iced coffee starts with how they are prepared.
Cold brew coffee involves a more intensive process. Iced coffee can start with making hot coffee, then letting it cool, and then adding ice.
Cold brew is made by steeping ground coffee in cold water. Since the water you use is cold, it needs to steep for 12 to 18 hours to absorb the coffee’s flavor and caffeine.
The cold extraction process brings out fewer of the coffee’s bitter compounds, producing a sweeter, smoother result.
Iced Coffee Recipes for Hot Summer Days
Just imagine sipping a tall glass of iced coffee on a hot summer day. When the humidity is high and your clothing sticks to your body, you just want something cold and refreshing.
The glass is cool in your hand, beaded with condensation that slips down your fingers. Ice clinks softly with each tilt, a familiar sound that belongs to slow mornings and long afternoons.
The first sip is sharp and refreshing. It’s bold coffee mellowed by cold, maybe softened with cream that swirls in pale ribbons.
It cuts through the air’s heaviness, waking you up or calming you down. There’s a rhythm to it: sip, breathe, and watch the light shift on the wall.
Outside, there is the sound of cicadas, distant traffic, and the steady warmth of the sun. But in that moment, the cold drink creates its own small pocket of peace and relaxation. Time stretches.
Even the busiest day feels a little more manageable when held alongside a glass of something chilled and familiar.
It’s not just coffee. It’s a ritual of cooling down and savoring one sip at a time.

I’ve never been a coffee drinker, but I do enjoy tea, hot or cold. If it’s hot, I like a splash of milk and some honey. I also like ice matcha lattes. Yum!
Some of these might suit my Hubby and daughter who love such things!! Thanks for sharing the ideas!! Eliza
Caramel is my favorite for both hot, iced and cold brew. My favorite iced coffee is from Jack-in-the-Box of all places!
These recipes look really good. I can’t wait to try the Brown Sugar Vanilla one. I love brown sugar and use it a lot.
It’s a nice prospect for the coming months, sitting out on a warm day sipping one of the delicious iced coffees. I’ve never had cold brew, will have to give that a try.
I’m catching up, so regarding your post a few days ago about neighbors, so true. I’ve spent most of the last seven months 2,000 miles from home tending to family needs. There was the nicest neighbor! She helped us in so many ways. And when I was there by myself the last few weeks, she’d bring me servings of meals she cooked. She was a fun person, and it was so nice to have a conversation with someone.
Cold brew is a process but I like it much better than iced. Don’t drink much of either any more, stick pretty much to plain hot coffee.
I love iced coffee and cold brew in the summer. No flavorings though. I buy the Califia brand in the grocery store and just add plain organic half and half to it.
Hi, Brenda. I have followed you for many years and just want to offer a suggestion. Do you think you could put your “Read the Blog” (the latest blog posts) first? I think someone new to your blog would be confused about finding your actual post for the day. There is quite a bit to scroll through until you get to your actual daily blog post. I admit that sometimes I find that annoying. Just a kind suggestion. I know bloggers are always trying to make their blog better. Thanks for listening.
Sometimes commenters refer to something I don’t see in the blog post like today’s reference to lunch with your daughter. Where are they reading that?
I didn’t see anything either regarding that issue.

I love cold brew coffee. I use a mason jar and an aluminum filter made for the mason jar. I change the recipe all the time. When it’s cold, I like to add cinnamon while it brews in the fridge.
Happy new year Brenda!
I use Stok cold brewed coffee, Caramel Macchiato creamer, caramel syrup and ice cubes. Easy and good, but your way is better,Brenda, for people who don’t shop often. The Stok goes fast!
Brenda, try using instant coffee instead. It turned out so much better with the instant coffee for me using your recipe. They sell it in little jars next to the regular coffee. They have it in decaf too.

Hi Brenda. You are quite the barrista! Your iced coffee is more of a smoothie drink than mine. I make iced coffee by basically adding ice to my hot coffee. I make strongly brewed coffee, let it cool a bit, add a bit of nonfat milk, and pour it over a lot of ice. No flavorings. It’s great that everyone can fix it they way they like it.
Hi Brenda,
Why aren’t you an affiliate at Amazon? I was going to check out the little blender and was looking for the link, but then realizied you don’t do that. You can make a few extra bucks if
anyone purchases from your site. Just sayin’
Great idea to mix these together. Sounds great! Thanks for the recipe.
Thanks for sharing your recipe! I didn’t know you could use the coffee grounds without first brewing coffee. That makes it a lot faster. I love the carmel flavors too.
Well, maybe you’re supposed to brew it. I don’t know. It is a little gritty, which is why I don’t add much Folgers. I made up this recipe. So keep that in mind!
Thanks Brenda! I love simple directions and that caramel syrup sounds wonderful.
Enjoy lunch with your daughter and I hope you and baby boy Charlie have a wonderful weekend!
Carol and Molly
I made up this recipe, so it has to be easy! I’m not very creative with recipes, Carol and Molly.
Thanks for the iced coffee instructions and product list of ingredients. Sounds good! Lunch out with your daughter sounds very nice. ?
We had a good outing.
