Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, including mothers of precious pets.

My things are still out of place. Yesterday, Greg moved some of the furniture back to where it belonged, but he had another patient and couldn’t stay long.
A plumber was sent out here to see what he could come up with to stop this flooding problem. The last I heard, they were waiting on an estimate from him.
As he said, I’m at a completely different elevation from the other apartments, and water flows down.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. So I’m hopeful he can come up with an idea before I get flooded again.
Gardening:
I’ve been disappointed that the deluge of rain over the past few weeks has killed some of my new outdoor plants.
I no longer have the geranium or the two containers of Million Bells in the photo above. I’m lucky I got a picture of them while I still had them.
Jeanie and I drove to the little outdoor nursery just down the road yesterday. We picked out a few more plants to replace what we’ve lost thus far.
I hope the next rain doesn’t cause flooding or kill my new plants.

Ivy:
Ivy is perplexed about why the furniture and our other belongings keep shifting from room to room. I’ll have to wait for Maria to help me restore any order.
The living room and my bedroom have at least been cleared of furniture that didn’t belong there. But everything that was in my bedroom closet is stacked up in the other bedroom.
What I’m Watching:
I’ve begun watching the TV series This Is Us. It is an emotional family drama that explores themes like race, mental health, and grief.

Though the series is mainly set in the present day, the story unfolds across various timelines. The drama examines how the most minor events and decisions profoundly shape us.
What I’m Reading:
Ron and Pat have recently been reading C.J. Box books. They gave me this book. This author was unknown to me. But he sure can keep you turning the pages of his books!

Book Summary:
Private Investigator Cassie Dewellโs business is thriving. Her latest case puts her on the hunt for a con man whoโs disappeared somewhere in the โtreasure state.โ A wealthy Florida widow accused him of absconding with her fortune. She is paying Cassie to find him and get it back.
The trail takes Cassie to Anaconda, Montana, a quirky former copper mining town. Cassie wonders if her client is telling her everything as the case develops.
Cassie is also working on one of her strangest assignments. A poem promising buried treasure to a lucky adventurer has led to a cutthroat competition. Five treasure hunters have already died searching for the treasure.

Oh my goodness, yes the rain has been soooo much! I think you guys over there have gotten even more than us over here in OKC. I’m weary of all the storms this year. As my daughter said this morning “severe weather season this year has proven to be especially inconvenient for me personally.” I thought that was very appropriately worded. LOL So sorry about your plants. I haven’t planted anything. It’s been a tiring several years at our house for one reason or another so I’ve just not done it since I knew I wouldn’t have the energy to keep up with it. I hope they get your flooding situation figured out quickly! That’s not fun at all.
I watched quite a bit of This is Us and for some reason stopped watching after several seasons. I think I got tired of the family drama since I had so much of that in my life already. LOL
I haven’t heard of CJ Box but I’ll add the books to my list because I usually love what you read!
Iโm a little late reading this post. I hope you had a wonderful Motherโs Day! Iโm sorry you lost some plants. I hope your new ones will thrive.
Happy Mother’s Day, Brenda! I hope you had a wonderful day. I hope things with your apartment are resolved very, very soon.
Enjoy This Is Us.. it is awesome…
Hope you will have better success with the plants outside after replacing the ones ruined. And more than that, a solution will be found to keep water from flooding inside the apt!! Seems any owner would prefer that his investment would be in less chance of ruin too!! I continue my complaining due to this complex allowing birds to set up housekeeping in the vents from the bathrooms!! Being they are INSIDE and no windows, it is very important to have a way to expell the moisture. Well duh huh? So far they are allowing the birds to win!!
Happy๐Motherโs๐Day to you Brenda and all the Moms out there! Have a good week.
Happy Motherโs Day Brenda. I hope you can relax and enjoy your day.
Happy Motherโs Day Brenda. I am glad to hear you are getting some attention paid to the water problems. Great picture of Ivyโฃ๏ธ
๐ Happy Mother’s Day Brenda.
Hope you have a lovely ๐ day. A nice lunch or dinner with your girls.
Trying not to think, or remind you of all the flooding. For sure, a huge headache.
Here’s to a better week ahead.
Happy Mother’s Day. I hope they get your flooding issue under control this week. At least you have gotten their attention and they seem to be working on it. Take extra good care.
Happy Mother’s Day Brenda! OH…… C.J. Box! I LOVE him! I’ve read every one of his books. The first ones are the best.. as not about Cassie, but about Joe Pickett, a Game Warden in a small town in Wyoming. They are SO GOOD and you’ll be on the edge of your seat the entire read! There is a 2 season show on Paramount Plus entitled Joe Pickett and that was also so good and based on Box’s books. It takes place when he’s older and his kids are grown. You should start from book 1 and read each one up to the present. I admit, there were a couple I didn’t love, but most I did! Marilyn
I hope you enjoy a wonderful Mother’s Day, Brenda, and that the issues with the drainage and flooding are soon cleared up.
Happy Mother’s day Brenda. I hope you have a better week this week.
I am new to your post but enjoyed looking around your site. Sorry about your water problems and pray they are resolved soon.
