Today in Sunday Snippets for 3.9.25…

The other day, while I was resting, elevating my knee on my bed and watching a movie, there was suddenly a loud noise. I couldn’t figure out what on earth it was, but it was loud enough to be scary.

Using my cane, I ventured into the dining room, but still couldn’t figure out where the sound was coming from. All I could think of was a busted pipe making a whooshing sound.

When I got to the laundry room next to the kitchen, I realized the kittens had somehow turned on the vacuum cleaner!

Those silly cats.

The Kitties Discover The Toilet Paper:

I wondered when it would happen. It did. Simon seems to have discovered the toilet paper.

Ivy used to unroll the toilet paper all over the floor, too. Simon manages to get himself in all kinds of mischief. Oh, but watching these three kitties I love is so much fun!

Keep Surface Decor Safe From Cats:

I wanted to share some information I read on Instagram the other day.

It said that if you have cats and fear decor will be knocked off surfaces and broken, there is a fix for that. The Instagrammer said to purchase museum wax and use it like putty, affixing it to the bottom of the decor.

I have this museum wax in my Amazon cart. If you try it, let me know how it works for you.

What I’m Watching:

Imdb

The Killing is a crime drama TV series that follows police investigations into murders and political corruption in Seattle. It stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman.ย

The first season follows the saga of a grieving family and a Seattle mayoral campaign. These two entities become related after the body of 17-year-old Rosie Larsen is found in the trunk of a submerged car. The mayoral campaign owns the vehicle.

This is my second time watching this riveting series. It is based in part on a popular Danish TV show. The Killing is a moody, character-driven detective procedural.

The stories unfold through the eyes of Sarah Linden, a dedicated detective with the Seattle Police Department. She is initially assigned to mentor Detective Stephen Holder, formerly of the narcotics division. While their varied, pockmarked backgrounds produce two distinct investigative styles that sometimes clash – she’s by-the-book, he’s freewheeling – the partners manage to pull together in the name of justice even after Linden makes a decision that changes both of their lives.

What I’m Reading:

I’m currently reading Truth Be Told by Kathleen Barber.

Amazon

The only thing more dangerous than a lieโ€ฆis the truth.

Josie Buhrman has spent the last ten years trying to escape her family, and with good reason. After her fatherโ€™s murder thirteen years prior, her mother ran away to join a cult, and her twin sister Lanie, once Josieโ€™s closest friend and confidant, unimaginably betrayed her. Now, Josie has finally put down roots in New York, settling into domestic life with her partner Caleb, and thatโ€™s where she intends to stay.

The only problem is that she has lied to Caleb about every detail of her pastโ€”starting with her last name.

When investigative reporter Poppy Parnell sets off a media firestorm with a megahit podcast that reopens the long-closed case of Josieโ€™s fatherโ€™s murder, questioning whether the wrong person may be behind bars, Josieโ€™s world begins to unravel. Meanwhile, the unexpected death of Josieโ€™s long-absent mother forces her to return to her Midwestern hometown, where she must confront the demons from her pastโ€”and the lies on which she has staked her future.

  1. A friend tried that museum was and it didn’t hold,we figured it was the fluctuating temperatures in the house, museums tend to keep a constant temperature.
I’ve had good luck with clear double sided tape, one on the market is Alien tape.

  2. Brenda, the museum wax works great! I don’t have a cat, but I’ve used it on many things like keeping a picture straight on a wall and keeping precious things from falling over from an earthquake (I live in California), etc. It only takes a little bit of the wax to do the trick. I don’t think you will be disappointed with the product.

    1. I was telling the young woman who cut my hair about it earlier because she has cats. I hope it works.

  3. Naughty kittens! They must have scared themselves when the vacuum came to life!
Iโ€™ve used museum wax for my sonโ€™s dorm posters and to straighten/secure wobbly candles in candlesticks.

    1. Hopefully it will have multiple uses.

    1. Simon gets into lots of mischief.

  5. If you turn the toilet paper roll so it rolls off from the back of the roll instead off the front as we typically would this helps prevent kitty TP capers.

    1. I shall try that!

  6. Oh my your kitties are so funny. I just got a Maine coon. He has not discovered the toilet paper yet.

  7. Annette Tracy says:

The cat that we took in after my friend died knocked my daughterโ€™s lamp
over and broke one of the feet. Iโ€™m not sure if it is repairable or even what to use. She is a big kitty and such a love.

I watched The Killing a long time ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just finished The Resident on Netflix. Itโ€™s based around Chastain Hospital in Atlanta and its doctors. Itโ€™s a long series and it touches on many issues in our lives today.

    1. I use to watch the Resident on one of my local tv stations and really enjoyed it. Itโ€™s not on anymore. Iโ€™ll have to watch it on Netflix. Thanks Annette for mentioning that!

    2. Iโ€™ll have to check it out.

  8. Great idea on the wax. I use some sort of putty for things that don’t seem to want to stay upright. Works wonders and comes right off too! Your kitties are hysterical!

    1. They definitely keep me on my toes.
