This is the fall edition of The Love Of Home Files #28. Today is the first day of fall! And it’s cooler outside. A neighbor and I sat outside on my patio and chatted for awhile and it was quite pleasant.

The onset of fall makes me think about all things cozy in the home.

At Shiplap And Shells, this 1920s beach cottage in the Pacific Northwest has a cozy kitchen, and it is brimming with vintage finds. I just love her home and her gardens are exquisite.

I hope you enjoyed this fall edition of The Love Of Home Files. Happy fall, ya’ll! I’m loving the cooler weather and I’m anticipating the arrival of the holiday season.

Blankets were brought out of the closet and a warm throw has been added to the couch. I’ll enjoy the scents of fall when I light candles. Maybe I’ll cook stew and make cornbread to eat along with it. Ivy will love that!

  1. That cornbread looks so yummy! I thought the table set with the green dishes and brown tones looked nice and made me think of your pretty green dishes. Your house is sounding really cozy right now. I need to cozy mine up too, but itโ€™s still pretty warm here. Iโ€™m so looking forward to cooler days. Not coldโ€ฆ just cool. Sitting outside enjoying the weather with a neighbor sounds wonderful to me!

  2. So much lovely fall goodness in this post! Love the decorating ideas. Very inspirational.
Funny you should post a link to a recipe for homemade Hamburger Helper. I made just that last night! But I used the recipe from Half Baked Harvest. So easy to make and no chemicals or preservatives etc like with a mix. That cornbread looks really good. Now I’m craving chili and cornbread!

  3. So many nice things to see in this post – starting with Shiplap and Shells. I’ve always enjoyed seeing her cute home and lovely garden. Thanks for sharing these great finds.

  4. We finally got a good rainfall today. The ground here was so dry there were large cracks forming in parts of my backyard. I watered everything once a week for the past 3 weeks, but it never seems to be enough. But today, all day a steady gentle rain that was able to soak in, I’d say about 1.5 inches which will really help the lawn revive during autumn. I have to retrieve my autumn wreath for the front door from basement storage and take down the summer one. Finally, today with the rain the temperature has dropped and should be in the 70s for highs during the coming week, and dropping down into the 60s/50s at night, hooray! I am slowly taking down my spring/summer decor. The throw pillow covers have been changed and I’ll be putting up different prints in the living room that are more autumnal, and swapping out decor there is in the dining area, including changing out the curtains on the patio door. I like being able to sleep with my windows cracked open for fresh cool air and snuggle under the sheet and bedspread without roasting and I’ve been able to do that on a few days this month. I’m going to try that Homemade Hamburger Helper recipe, it looks and sounds delish!
