This week on Sunday Snippets 3.30.25…

In Sunday Snippets 3.30.25, this is Ivy perched on the fireplace mantel.

Here’s Ivy “hanging out” on the fireplace mantel, watching me as I sit in my chair. Ivy is such a calm cat, except when she gets mad at the kittens for being so boisterous.

Are you getting excited about planting? I am, but my knee condition is still a problem. Normally, I sit on my little garden cart, which I’ve had for absolute ages, and roll around. But I haven’t had issues with my knees before, so I’ll have to adjust the way I get up and down from it.

Granddaughter Marley’s First Day At Her First Job:

Yesterday was my granddaughter’s first day at her job at Southwoods.

Marley dressed for her first day at her first job at a garden nursery.

Kendra took this image of 16-year-old Marley at her house before she went to work. Southwoods is my favorite garden nursery in Tulsa, and I’ve shopped there many times. She’s a girl after my own heart!

Peter Kater’s Love CD:

I’m sitting here listening to Peter Kater’s Love CD. It’s one of my very favorites. Everyone listens to music differently now, but I’m still old school. If you enjoy piano music, look him up on YouTube to check out his beautiful music—or however you listen to music.

From Peter Kater:

“I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old. There are very few things that are more natural to me than making music. In playing the piano, I am able to express what is deep in my heart and soul, where words fall short and seem colorless in comparison. I am fortunate to have a recording studio in my home. Almost every time I sit at the piano to play, I press the record button just in case something special comes through. These improvisations and compositions were recorded over the last three years, in the heat of the moment. These are musical portraits of my heart, ripe with emotions, joy, complexities, excitement, pain, and revelations of the various manifestations and landscapes of LOVE.” – Peter Kater

What I’m Watching:

In Sunday Snippets 3.20.25, Anna Gunn & David Tennant in Gracepoint.

I just watched Gracepoint with David Tennant and Anna Gunn.

Gracepoint is the American adaptation of the ITV series Broadchurch, the BBC Original of this screenplay. I’ve watched Broadchurch before, but I may give it another look-see.

The series Broadchurch.
Broadchurch with David Tennant & Olivia Colman

Unusual for an American adaptation, Broadchurch’s leading man, David Tennant, also played the head detective on the American show, sporting an American accent. In Broadchurch, the female detective is Olivia Colman.

What It’s About: Tragedy strikes Gracepoint, a town in Northern California, when a young boy is found dead on a beach. When authorities quickly declare the death a homicide, the town’s residents turn against one another, and a media frenzy erupts.

I hadn’t decided whether to watch Capetown or the BBC version of Gracepoint, Broadchurch.

In Cape Town: A cop returns to work after the traumatic death of his wife and, together with his new partner, investigates a series of high-profile murders.

Cape Town only has one season, so I don’t know if I want to invest my time with it. I would rather watch something in which I can become immersed.

Last night I started watching Bosch again. First, I began watching Bosch Legacy. After one episode, I decided to go back and start at the very beginning.

“The Lincoln Lawyer” and “Bosch” books are connected through their shared author, Michael Connelly. The characters Mickey Haller and Harry Bosch are half-brothers in the books, but they are not directly connected in the TV series due to different streaming platforms and studios.

More About The Four-Part Series Adolescence:

In Sunday Snippets 3.20.25, the acting parents in Adolescence.
Netflix

I’ve mentioned the four-part series Adolescence several times here, and I read something about it every day, as it was such a surprising mega-hit. Adolescence shattered a Netflix record to become the streamer’s most-watched limited series in its first two weeks.

Perhaps part of its appeal is that each episode was filmed in a single take with no camera cuts. But the acting is the real draw. I’m seeing articles about Stephen Graham everywhere now.

Netflix

He is one of Britain’s finest actors. I want to see every single thing he’s acted in!

He plays Bruce Springsteen’s father in his new movie, “Deliver Me from Nowhere,” which will be released later this year.

What I’m Reading:

I’m reading The Stolen Hours by Allen Eskins.

In Sunday Snippets 3.20.25, I'm reading "The Stolen."
Amazon

What It’s About: Lila Nash is on the verge of landing her dream job—working as a prosecutor under the Hennepin County Attorney—and has settled into a happy life with her boyfriend, Joe Talbert. But when a woman is pulled from the Mississippi River, barely alive, things in the office take a personal turn.

The police believe the woman’s assailant is local photographer Gavin Spenser, but the case quickly flounders as the evidence wears thin. It seems Gavin saw this investigation coming—and no one can imagine how carefully he has prepared.
