In this week’s Sunday Snippets 9.28.25…

I didn’t do much this week. My allergies are terrible with the pollen of weeds and molds. Apparently, ragweed is a primary culprit.
The Kitties:
Below is a photo I took of Simon and Daisy last night while I was watching TV. They’re a little over a year old now.

The kitties are doing what kitties do.
Simon gets in his fair share of trouble because he’s a curious cat. Every morning, he gets a case of the zoomies and makes weird sounds as he races around the house. That boy has a lot of energy!
Right now, he’s in the midst of his morning zoomies, and Daisy is watching him as though she’s somewhat amazed by his actions. Daisy gets an energetic burst now and then, but not nearly like Simon does. Maybe it’s a male thing???

Daisy likes to sit in front of the windows (remember, I have 18 windows!) and watch the birds. Ivy seems to want to sleep mostly. Cats do sleep a lot.
Maggie/Magnolia:
I briefly saw Maggie last week at Kendra’s house. I’d gone to her house because she was taking me to drop off my car at a mechanic’s garage to have new brakes installed. Maggie looks well; she’s gaining weight, and her coat is nice and shiny.
Kendra’s still having to keep the cats separated because they aren’t fond of one another right now.
At the mechanic shop, I only needed to have one end of the brakes done on my car at this time. This is a 20-year-old car with 60,300 miles on it. He said I didn’t need to worry about the other end.
I had him add new windshield wipers. He said the car is in great shape.
Currently, I have Marley’s car parked in my driveway. It was the girls’ dad’s car before he died last year. Marley is now driving her new Bronco full-time.
For now, it was decided that there might be a need for an extra car in case someone in the family has a vehicle in the shop. It’s eight years newer than my car. It was the first time I’d driven a car that didn’t require a key to start, which felt strange.
What I Just Watched:
Iwa watched the British series “Criminal UK“ on Netflix this past week. It is a short series.

A specialized interrogative unit of the Metropolitan Police engages in intense games of psychological cat-and-mouse with their suspects to find the answers that they need to close the case.
Each episode takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite.
Adolescence:

I also watched Adolescence again, after the four-part series swept the Emmy awards, winning eight Emmys. Since Owen Cooper made history as the youngest male to win the Best Supporting Actor Award, I wanted to watch his acting more closely.
If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth watching.
What I’m Watching Now:

Yesterday, I began watching the limited series Wayward with Toni Collette. I didn’t realize that she was Australian, but I recently read that she was born in Sidney.
Toni Collette is Evelyn Wade, the head teacher at the mysterious and sinister Tall Pines Academy, a place for “troubled teens.” Mae Martin plays Alex, a new police officer in the town of Tall Pines who begins to suspect the school is more dangerous than it appears.
The show follows Alex as he works with two students to uncover the academy’s dark secrets. As well as the cult-like leader Evelyn, who manipulates people through a philosophy of “self-reflection.”
What I’m Reading:
Last night, I finished reading “That’s Not My Name” by Megan Lally.

Book Summary:
She thought she had her life back. She was wrong. A gripping debut thriller perfect for fans of Natalie D. Richards and Vincent Ralph.
It was a mistake to trust him.
Shivering and bruised, a teen wakes up on the side of a dirt road with no memory of how she got thereโor who she is. A passing officer takes her to the police station, and not long after, a frantic man arrives. He’s been searching for her for hours. He has her school ID, her birth certificate, and even family photos.
He is her father. Her name is Mary. Or so he says.
When Lola slammed the car door and stormed off into the night, Drew thought they just needed some time to cool off. Except that Lola disappeared, and the sheriff, his friends, and the whole town are convinced Drew murdered his girlfriend.
Forget proving his innocence, he needs to find her before it’s too late. The longer Lola is missing, the fewer leads there are to followโฆand the more danger they both are in.

@X Trench Run I learn so much about the styles of decorating from you!
The kitties are so cute! I hope Kendraโs cats will learn to like each other! I would love to see Simon and his zoomies, lol! That has got to be so entertaining for you, haha.
All that build-in entertainment with the kitties! It’s fun to watch their antics.
Hope you get some relief from your allergies.
Good evening Brenda,
I wanted to leave a comment about the post you wrote about Cozy houses, I could not agree more with everything that you said. A home is messy, filled with people, animals and things we love. It doesn’t;t need to be perfect.
On to this post, your kitties are adorable! I cannot believe they are a year old! Time flies. Happy to hear that Kendras cat is doing well.
Thankful that you have an honest mechanic, most would have charged you for both brakes! Always good to have an extra car for emergencies.
That book sounds very scary! But the shows have me intrigued.
Have a wonderful week.
How time flies, a year since you opened your home to the kitties. So cute. Have a great week. My Chloe sleeps a lot also, she’s 10years old. Fall is finally coming to the Bay Area, it’s glorious
They were born somewhere in August, the rescue organization told me. But I didn’t get to adopt them until January.
I have a kitty that is now 8 yrs old and she is a night owl. Runs around and bats her toys, lies on the floor and makes lots of noise, and is totally not affectionate. Their personalities can be so strange.
Your car is amazing. And I agree itโs nice to have an extra car in the event something happens to one. I had to drive my extra for 13 months waiting for my accident to be settled.
I guess it is now the family car.
Yes I think it would feel different starting a car not using a key. My husband’s is an automatic shift when starting it I find myself looking for the clutch. Agree on keeping cars for a long time. Cute picture of Simon and Daisey together and Ivy on the cat tower. Can’t believe it is almost October!
The month of September went by quickly!
