This creamy beverage is sweet and thick and comforting. Eggnog is a wonderful treat to enjoy with family and friends. Or sitting alone by the fire reading a good book.
Frances in MD again.
Cars can be fitted with hand controls. With right rehab teams in play you might regain
your freedom. Md has rehab that includes training retraining to drive with all sorts of equipment. Here a through strength and range of motion etc eval is done then extensive plans set. My son got his license with this kind of team approach to rehabilitation. Optimal independence was always the objective. There is so much out there to explore.

My son was born with congenital deformities. He’s a practicing attorney now. He uses a light weight titanium wheelchair that the wheels come off easily and the seat and back closes easily. You could use it to get to your car, take it apart putting it in the back seat and then you’d have your car for errands. Sticking to drive throngs would give u a bit more freedom. Also get a handicapped sticker. Does the apartment complex have any spaces u could access? Also ADA laws might have influence in getting the paths you need made accessible. Call your state relevant offices and talk directly to someone taking copious notes all the while. The state attorney general office might have info on who has sway on landlords and also your city and or county. A motorized scooter that u could store by your door could fill in other gaps. A good mobility equipment vendor can answer many if your questions. Then get a prescription for a w/chair and/or scooter to submit to Medicare and or insurance company. Durable medical equiptment is their category. The company measures you and fits w/ to your needs.
My son has trouble with all four limbs but the light weight chair gives him freedom. His car is his feet.
Things to think about.
Good luck in 2023.
Oh ps.
Lots of people garden from a wheelchair. Use a walker for stability in the house then a chair out in the world.
It would be fun to have a taste testing party and try them all!
My girls made Smitten Kitchen’s Small Batch egg nog for me yesterday and it was easy and tasty, Also, Barb from Creative Culinary posted a recipe for Chocolate Egg Nog using store bought egg nog.
Good info, Brenda. Thanks!
Eggnog has always impressed me to look at. It’s pretty.
That’s about all because I do not like it.
Flavors seem to disagree with my taste buds.
Also, I never drink alcohol. It all tastes terrible to me.
So anything alcoholic I’ve avoided my entire life.
Would be willing to try homemade egg nog ,,,,,, free of booze!!
Usual ingredients from recipes you’ve given us are delicious!
I love cream and dairy products.
Hope one.of your readers will give an egg nog recipe a go!
Tell us how good it was!!!
Safe driving 🚗 everyone.
Better yet ,,,,, stay home.
A much wiser choice!!
I love eggnog, but I’m picky about the brand. Or maybe not picky, but rather… spoiled. I grew up in south Florida, and they had a drive through convenience store called Farm Store. It was also a regular store, but the drive throughs were so convenient. Anyway, they had their own brand of non alcoholic eggnog that, in my opinion, is better than ANY store bought eggnog I’ve ever had! Unfortunately, I’ve never seen the store anywhere but in south Florida. To be fair, I’ve never tried any homemade recipes, so they may be equally delicious. Too bad it’s only a seasonal drink. Maybe that’s a good thing though. Otherwise I might be indulging in it a little too often, lol!
They sound yummy. It’s been years since I’ve had a glass of egg nog, but I use to guzzle it as a kid, as my paternal grandparents always served it over the holidays. I don’t think it was store bought, I remember it tasting so much better than store bought which my dad would sometimes buy for us at home. Sweet memories.
Lots of great recipes and ideas for eggnog! Yum!
When I first heard about eggnog, I was told it had to be spiked. Well, I didn’t then and still don’t do alcohol of any kind, so I avoided it. Then a dear friend told me it tasted better without alcohol, so I do enjoy it on occasion. Actually very, very seldom.
Enjoy your day!
I love eggnog. Unfortunately, I’m the only one who does, and the calorie content is high, so I do not get to enjoy it.
I do, however, occasionally warm some milk with a little sweetener and top with nutmeg. That makes for a very cozy drink.
What a great idea!
