This is Kendra’s first Airbnb she has renovated. In this venture, she partnered up with Shaun, another house flipper and owner of real estate.
They have finished the renovations of what they referred to for months as “the hoarder house.”
The Open Concept Living/Dining/Kitchen Area:

They will have to come up with a better name. Surely they have by now. But that’s what it was dubbed back when it truly was a hoarder house they purchased.
Now it looks anything but!

A grandmother lived there with her 18 year old grandson and an infant granddaughter with crucial medical needs.
The mother of the baby was in drug rehab at the time.

The home was a haven for rodents and rotting food.
Still, Kendra and Shaun saw behind the mess and filth and hired a crew to clean it up. I imagine it was an extensive job.
Then they went about renovating it, which began during the winter. It is now finished and ready for paying occupants this summer season.
Where You Enter The Home:
Here’s where you enter the Airbnb.

The colors are mostly black and white with neutral and green accents. And everything is brand new.

I think it needs faux plants to soften the corners, and I shall make that suggestion. There’s actually a small faux plant in one bathroom, I noticed.
The Dining Space:

The dining room seems roomy and open.
I’d call the style of this house modern boho, if I had to describe it. With a touch of mid-century design.
The elements of mid-century modern interior design include clean lines and muted tones. In this composition, there is typically a combination of natural materials, graphic shapes, and vibrant colors.
The Airbnb Kitchen:

I keep reading that white kitchens are going out of style.
But I think a white kitchen gives an illusion of hygienic cleanliness that is hard to replicate. So I’ll always love a white kitchen.
I think the black and white palette is very elegant. It’s a small house, and keeping clean monochrome colors makes it seem visually larger to me.
The Airbnb Hallway:

The chosen flooring is light and helps to balance the black and white color palette.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms:

This bedroom is using the same color palette. it has a black curtained window and modern art on the wall above the bed.
I see that there’s a sound machine just like I have to mute any sounds that might be bothersome.

This bathroom is striking with the alternating black and white tile design at the back of the shower. I wish I had a walk-in shower.

The other bedroom introduces the color green to the mix. I think of it as the color of nature. Black shaded lamps are on either side of the bed on bedside tables.

The light fixture in this bathroom has a touch of gold that matches the door hardware on the vanity. Plus the mirror is also framed in gold.

The “Playful” Bathroom:
Kendra said she wanted this bathroom to be a bit playful. So she opted for a shower curtain depicting a jungle scene, along with black and white wallpaper.

I love the green framed mirror over the vanity. It really brings this bathroom to life when paired with the colorful shower curtain.

This bedroom focuses on a clean and crisp white with neutral bedside tables and white and neutral lamps. It’s an airy space with the two windows.
Kendra typically buys houses to flip them. Sometimes she keeps them as rentals. But this is her first renovated Airbnb, and I thought you might be interested to see how it turned out.

Kendra did an amazing job – looks like a place I’d be happy to stay in! What vision she had to see past all that mess!
Wow, what a great space. Kendra did a wonderful job! Like you I love a white kitchen.
Kendra did a good job and I wish her much success with Airbnb! I know I have stayed at one on a number of occasions over the years, even in Europe. Will she list w VRBO as well? I know several people who have used VRBO recently.
What happened to the family who lived here before?
I don’t know exactly. I know they were getting them to a different place. Maybe a condition of selling the house.
They did a lovely job…it is most inviting I think!
Love this Airbnb! Very clean, crisp and modern. I like the neutral decor with little splashes of green plus that cool shower curtain. I think anyone would feel comfortable in this place.
I hope you are feeling better by now. Wonder if you had food poisoning?
Yesterday I felt pretty normal. I think several factors were involved and then the heat got to me. By the time the electricity came back on I was cold and covered in a blanket. Dehydration?
This girl sure takes after her talented mama! What a gorgeous place! Love the understated palette, but that shower curtain is a fanciful touch to finish it all off!
Good afternoon Brenda,
The house looks great! I hope it is booked all year long!
Have a happy and safe weekend. Stay cool.
Wow! Kendra’s work is so good! The bnb is very inviting and restful – a nice refuge for a traveler. Love the bedrooms and bathrooms especially. She is so talented.
Glad you’re feeling somewhat better – and may you feel more yourself with each day.
Kendra is such a hardworking, talented, skillful and creative young woman. This home is truly lovely. You should be very proud of your daughter’s tremendous and successful accomplishments. She certainly has great taste and always seems to know what people want to either purchase or rent. That bathroom tile work is fantastic.
I’m very proud of her! We share that “thing” for houses.
What a lovely place to stay!
It is a fantastic place. Unstated in an Air B&B a few years ago and so enjoyed it. I think they will be very successful with this one. Love that mirror in the bathroom. I’ve been looking for something like it
to no avail.
Thank you for sharing Kendra’s first Air BNB – it’s gorgeous. I like that it’s simple with a few bold statements.
I hope you’re feeling better and relaxing. Take good care, Brenda!
I was in my first Air BnB last week when my sister came into town and rented one . It was much too large for just the 2 of them but was all they could find available. It was much like this with white and neutral colors. Large farmhouse dining table that i visioned people all eating at. Kendra did a really good job capturing the feeling vacationers would want to be essential staying there. Love the bathrooms decor the most. . I agree a plant would be nice for color.
Oh. Wow. very very nice!!!!
I would feel very welcome in this space. Hope you are feeling better and enjoying the plants and animals outside your home.
I am feeling a bit better. Stomach is calming down.
Kendra does such beautiful work. Her designs are flawless, takes after her mom. Thanks for sharing Brenda
She did a fabulous job!!! My favorite has to be the black and white boho
wallpaper in the 2nd bathroom. Thanks for sharing.
I like that too.
Gorgeous home, your daughter has a great eye for design. I love the waterfall island, and I too love a white kitchen….also agree a few faux plants would work…I’d get a faux olive tree in a basket or ceramic planter to add to the window corner by the fireplace…reasonably priced on Amazon….also A+++ on the bathrooms, I always look at the bathrooms before I book anything…..wishing her luck….
I just sent her photos of faux plants from Amazon as you suggested. One is the faux olive tree in a basket.
Thank You for taking my suggestion…with a basket perfect. I have a faux olive tree in a corner and just love it!
