My July 4th Table Setting
I decided to arrange a July 4th table setting with my new Pfaltzgraff red and white dishes that arrived yesterday.
I love this whimsical type of dishware. And I know I’ll really enjoy using them.
This set is called the Pfaltzgraff Kenna Red 16-Piece Porcelain Dinnerware Set with service for 4.
Decorating With Patriotic Colors:
In the middle of the place setting, I added a blue and white salad plate to give it that 4th of July red, white and blue theme.
I found the blue and white gingham fabric cloth napkins at Tuesday Morning. You know I love shopping at Tuesday Morning!
I already had the glasses and silverware. So the new Pfaltzgraff dishes were the only other thing I purchased for the holiday.
Mixing & Matching Dishes:
I’ve learned over the years that you can mix and match dishes and bowls however you want to. And once you layer them, they almost always tend to look good together.
I use mostly white dishes, but it’s fun to add red and blue.
Decorating With Red, White & Blue:
Red, white and blue is the color of our flag and the trio of colors is considered patriotic. I’m sure you’ll see a lot of decor with these colors in the next week or so.
Browsing around blogs and Pinterest inspired me to create my own red, white and blue tablescape blog post.
Ron (the shipbuilder) and Pat’s grandson has been building a path for me and he is doing an excellent job! He dug up so much dirt and roots and rocks to do this job for me.
And though he’s not yet finished, I can tell it will be just what I needed so I’ll have a safe path from my patio to the sidewalk. Of course I’ll show photos to you once he’s finished.
He said he’d finish today, so I’d better get to the bank to get money to pay him before it’s too hot to get out.

Brenda, I have those dishes. I got them because they would look perfect for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and, of course, Fourth of July. I never thought to pair them with blue and white gingham napkins…but I will now.
I love red , wte and blue decos so much that I have a room dedicated to them! I still have my fav jeans that I wore in high school that still fit me when I tried them on recently!
The other day I received my bowl plates in the mail and they’re very vibrant colors! I can’t wait to order some other colors when they are on sale again.

Very nice cozy looking table. It’s funny how things like this just brighten our days in our homes. I am glad I enjoy the warmth of cute dishes, home accessories and find such pleasure in just putting a bologna sandwich on a plate. I am grateful every day to have a safe refuge in this crazy upside down world.

I can’t remember the last time I bought paper plates. Probably when my kids were little. Since I never go to family gatherings where a lot of people are eating, I don’t have a need for them really. But it’s just me, so keeping the plates clean is easy.

We spend a fortune shopping or even ordering in for the 3 of us.

Their grandson is in the middle of moving too. A wife and 3 kids. And he comes over here and works for me. But then he needs the money I’m sure. He’s coming back tomorrow. It already seems to be a miracle what he’s done out there with that big slope, huge ornamental grass, and roots as thick as his arm he had to use an axe to get out. It is now flat and I’m overjoyed.
Your red, white, and blue theme makes me want to use those colors, too. The holiday will be here soon. That is half way through the summer which is a good thing. This season began hot early. We need rain!
I did have lots of red and white, but no blue plates. So I ordered the 4 blue salad plates that you see there.
I love your table decorations! Maybe Trader Joe’s will have some pretty flowers to compliment your table decorations. That would be a nice centerpiece! You don’t actually need a centerpiece, because it looks good just as it is, but I know you like flowers! I can’t wait to see your walking path! You should post before and pictures!
I should have done that but didn’t think to. I already had a centerpiece there before I took the photos. It was faux white hydrangeas in a blue and white vase. But Miss Ivy wouldn’t leave the faux hydrangeas alone. So I had to move it.

I didn’t know they did either, though I’ve been eyeing these dishes for a few years. I love that they don’t just sell formal type dishware.

Yes, Kendra got moved into her home. She’s already working on another flip house. I did have polka-dotted bowls at one time. But I never used them and a reader from Texas drove all the way here with her husband because I said I’d give them to her. She’s delighted with them. I didn’t have as much room to store things at the other apartment.

I was so scared to walk toward the sidewalk or up on the upper-level yard, because nothing was level! All I needed was another fall right before I’m having surgery on the 27th.
