This week in New & Notable Mentions #8 I have lots of links for you to check out this weekend. From decorating to gardening to crafts to recipes. And also upcoming news about books.
Decorating:
Itty Bitty Farmhouse shows off her fall decor with a big vintage pumpkin sign over her Farmhouse Apple Cider Bar.
A Pretty Life decked out her front porch for fall. Everyone passing by can see the display on her porch, and perhaps, smile.
Crafts:
Artful Homemaking shows you how to create a table runner. This one would also look so pretty with fall decor.
Food:
Recipe Rebel has 30 easy crock pot meals that are perfect for fall meals.
If you like Mexican food, The Country Cook has a recipe for a copycat Taco Bell Mexican Pizza.
It’s that time of year when everything pumpkin is popular. I found this recipe for pumpkin bread from the blog “Two Peas & Their Pod.”
House Plants:
Clever Bloom will tell you how to prepare your house plants for winter. She says she doesn’t often move her plants, but during winter you “have to chase the light.” Makes sense to me.
Gardening:
Stacy Ling will show you how to plant a fall garden in a flea market find.
Books:
Next month Elizabeth Strout is coming out with “Oh William!” the third installment following her book “Olive Kittredge.” The second book was “Olive, Again.”
“Oh, William!” will be released on October 19.
Elizabeth Strout was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for the New York Times bestseller, Olive Kittredge. She lives in Maine and New York City.
Have a great weekend! If it’s a bit cooler where you live you might take a nature walk. I’d love to get out and take photos at Woodward Park, but it’s not quite time yet.

I’ve pinned the crockpot recipes, and that front porch is stunning! I think I’m motivated to get to work on my, now that the temperatures are cooler.
Happy Day Brenda! Thank you so much for sharing my fall garden in that cool flea market find. I am honored to be featured with all these other amazing accounts and love the fall vibe of each feature! They are some great ideas. Enjoy your week! xo
Oh that Mexican pizza looks amazing! That was my favorite from Taco Bell.
Dear Brenda,
I just have to rave and compliment you on this; your New & Notables feature is so delightful and fun and informative! The recipes are great…Pumpkin Bread you are so getting made tomorrow after I run to the store. I just checked my spices and need fresh cinnamon and ginger.
Thank you again
I am excited it is almost crock pot season. I cannot wait to use my crock pot this fall and winter. The pumpkin bread looks so yummy. I miss having a front porch to decorate. I did do a few decorations around the entry door for fall. Have a great weekend.
Brenda, I love link posts! Love the porch, the table runner and I love Two Peas and Their Pod. I make a lot of their recipes and they are all delicious!
Happy Fall and happy Weekend.
Brenda, a bit off topic here but I noticed an arm chair you have to the left of your TV… it’s wood and a light colored fabric. Would you mind telling me a bit more about it please? Where did you get it and is it sturdy? It’s hard picking one online if you can’t sit in it and I really don’t want to buy something that’s not going to hold up to a bit of light use. Thanks!
Love, love this feature! Can’t wait to make the pumpkin bread. It’s not exactly cool in Cali, (California) yet, but going for my walk now after reading you wonderful blog! Enjoy your weekend! Thank you for sharing!
Some great ideas. Wish I had a front porch to decorate. XO Laura
