Today in Sunday Snippets 5.11.25…
I captured this picture of Daisy the other day.

She looks like she’s telling me something. “Daisy, what are you trying to say?”
In other news, my grandson graduated from college yesterday. He now has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance Cum Laude.
Mother’s Day Plans:
The girls are bringing lunch today. I told them to choose the restaurant, because it’s Mother’s Day for both of them as well. Kasi’s husband, Ross, and son, Andrew, are also coming. As is Riley, Kendra’s son. Marley is working at her job at the garden nursery today.
Kendra changed the handheld shower head that had broken last week, and added the pole for the water hose the week before, so that was her present to me.
Kasi purchased two area rugs for the front porch. I got the same fern vine area rug I have in the living room.
Front Porch Tasks:
On Friday, I planted an ornamental grass. On Saturday, I planted zinnia, alyssum, and lemon balm seeds. In the past, I’ve mostly planted seeds, such as vegetables, morning glories, and zinnias.
Yesterday, I had Greg get my fountain out of the shed. I was so exhausted from all I did on Friday. Slinging several cubic feet of potting soil bags off the front porch to the ground wasn’t easy. I usually sling them over the side or drag them down the steps.
I haven’t gotten that tired in ages. The tired you get, where everything hurts, and your eyes even feel like they’re sagging!
I cleaned the water fountain, which was full of dust, and set it up on the porch near the electrical outlet. It hasn’t been used in several years. I love the sound of water and wanted it to attract birds, too.
Birds, especially juveniles, are drawn to the sound of moving water. The combination of the sound and sight of running water further enhances this attraction.
It’s so lovely to sit on the porch and listen to the birds and the water fountain. This is my first spring season living here, so all the sights and sounds are new to me.
I purchased the water fountain from Amazon in 2022. Though I haven’t taken photos of the porch yet, this is the fountain I have. I will take pictures and show the porch in a few days.
As I write this, I hear birdsong outside the window next to me.
What I’m Watching – The Night Agent:
I’m watching the second season of The Night Agent on Netflix.

The Night Agent is an action thriller based on Matthew Quirk’s novel. It premiered on Netflix on March 23, 2023, and stars Gabriel Basso in the title role.
It is about low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings. Until the night it finally does, propelling him into a conspiracy that leads to the Oval Office.
There is a mole at the highest levels of the United States government. To save the nation, he begins a desperate hunt for the traitor.
The series emerged as the third-most-viewed debuting series on Netflix in its first four days, and within a week, it was renewed for a second season. The second season was released on January 23, 2025, and the third season went into production in February 2025.
What I’m Reading – The Handmaid’s Tale:

I’m reading Margaret Atwood’s 1985 dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale. I’ve watched much of the series. They just finished the sixth and final season, so I hope to watch what I’ve missed soon.
The novel depicts a future United States called Gilead. In this society, women are stripped of their rights and divided into classes, including Handmaids who are forced to bear children for the ruling elite.
The Republic of Gilead is a totalitarian and patriarchal military dictatorship. It’s characterized by a rigid social structure that enforces strict control over all aspects of life, particularly women’s roles.
The regime is built on a twisted interpretation of religious beliefs. It justifies its oppression and maintains power through fear and the control of information.
I hope you enjoyed reading Sunday Snippets 5.11.25. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, whether you have children and/or pets, or both!

You have been a busy lady.
I’m glad you had a lovely Mother’s Day. My children pampered me, too.
We had something else in common on Sunday. My granddaughter was working as well. Isn’t it wonderful we have such responsible young ladies?
Congrats on your Grandson! I know you are super proud.
Here’s to have a week that is full of blessings.
PS – congratulations to your grandson on graduating college!
Daisy is so cute!
I hope you had a good Mother’s Day with your family.
I would love a water feature for my patio or back yard but we’re lacking outdoor outlets in those areas. I’m going to see if maybe they make solar powered ones?
There are lots of solar ones. Or just buy the solar round thing that floats in water.
That picture of Daisy is too cute. It does look like she’s trying to tell you something, doesn’t it. Perhaps Debora is right, she’s wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day, lol. I like that idea. And a big congratulations to your grandson! I know you all must be so proud of him! I’m glad your family came to spend Mother’s Day with you. That makes it extra special. I can’t wait to see your porch pictures.
And my grandson achieved this in 3 years instead of the usual 4.
Happy Mother’s Day to you, and to both of your daughters. I hope you had a joyous day.
It looks like Daisy is singing!
We have been working in the flower beds also. I am beat! Sometimes I wonder how long before it gets to be too much! I am going to be 70 this Nov and I am feeling all of my joints. 13 operations lets me know to take it easier! I bet your flowers look great! Too early for annuals here in Wi.
Happy Mother’s Day old friend! I hopeyou havea fun dinner with your family!
Perhaps Daisy is wishing you a Happy Mothers Day! The cats know they are extremely lucky to have you “mother” them. Enjoy your family (human and feline) this Mothers Day.
Very nice everyone is coming to celebrate with you today!! Hope the meal is yummy!!
Happy Mother’s Day Brenda enjoy lunch and the kidos
You have certainly been busy and have lots of new things to enjoy. I look forward to seeing your plants, porch, and presents.
What an accomplishment for your grandson!
Happy Mother’s Day
💐Happy💐Mother’s💐Day💐
Happy Mother’s Day to you too. Daisy is so cute. Love the water fountain. I just love what you’ve done with the house both inside and out. Enjoy your family today.
That picture of Daisy is so cute. Makes you wonder what she is thinking! You have been a busy bee with your plants. Something got into two of my pots yesterday and upended one and tore the other one up. I think it’s a squirrel but don’t know if they’d do that much damage.
Happy Mother’s day to you Brenda. Sounds like you will
have a great one💗🌹❤️🪴❣️🌷
