Today in Sunday Snippets 7.6.25…

Not much exciting happened around here this past week. The cats were afraid of the July 4th fireworks and confused about their origin.
A small roof leak was repaired, as was a problem with the air conditioning pipe in the attic. The roof leak allowed water to enter the laundry room’s ceiling light, which had to be replaced.
Finally, the rain showers have eased up. Now we’re into the heat of summer.
The Kitties:
Ivy is sleeping in the guest room in this picture. Simon and Daisy are up in the white dresser in the window.
Daisy always opens her mouth and meows at me when she sees me enter a room, as though she’s talking to me. See her in action below.

My old friend Rhonda came by again on Tuesday, and I ordered lunch from P.F. Chang’s, which she picked up for us. We had a great visit.
A Movie I Watched:

Yesterday I watched Everest on Netflix. If you want to see it, it’s leaving Netflix at the end of this month.
Everest is a 2015 movie based on the 1996 Mount Everest disaster in which eight climbers lost their lives. It focuses on the survival attempts of two expedition groups, one led by Rob Hall (Clarke) and the other by Scott Fischer (Gyllenhaal).
Starring in this movie are Jason Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Martin Henderson, and Emily Watson.
What I’m Watching:

In Animal Kingdom, after a heroin overdose kills his mom, Joshua “J” Cody moves to Southern California to live with his relatives. The family’s matriarch is J’s estranged grandmother, Janine “Smurf” Cody, from whom he’s been shielded for years.
J soon finds out the reason for the isolation. Smurf and “her boys” make their living through carefully planned armed robberies and other criminal activities.
The Codys engage in numerous criminal activities and commit various heists to generate money. These jobs are undertaken by J’s uncles: Barry “Baz” Blackwell, Smurf’s adopted son, who calls the shots.
Then there’s Andrew “Pope” Cody, the oldest and most dangerous of Smurf’s sons; Craig Cody, the fearless middle son; and Deran Cody, the troubled youngest son.
To stay alive, J must prove loyal to his beguiling grandmother, who rules with a borderline-incestuous love.
Animal Kingdom is an original 2010 Australian crime drama film about a Melbourne crime family. The screenplay was inspired by several crimes allegedly committed by the Pettingill family of Melbourne, Australia.
What I’m Reading:
The book “Where He Can’t Find You” by Darcy Coates is by a new-to-me author who writes horror and suspense novels.
From USA Today bestselling horror/thriller author Darcy Coates comes the chilling legend of a monster no one can escape.
DON’T WALK ALONE, OR THE STITCHER WILL FIND YOU.
Abby Ward lives in a town haunted by disappearances. People vanish, and when they’re found, their bodies have been dismembered and sewn back together in unnatural ways. But is it the work of a human killer…or something far darker?
DON’T STAY OUT LATE, OR THE STITCHER WILL TAKE YOU.
She and her younger sister live by a strict set of rules designed to keep them safe, which is why it’s so shocking when Hope is taken. Desperate to get her back, Abby tells the police everything she knows, but they claim they’re tied by the law.
DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES, OR THE STITCHER WILL REMAKE YOU.
With every hour precious, Abby and her friends are caught in a desperate game of cat-and-mouse. They have to get Hope back. Quickly. Before too much of her is cut away. And before everything they care about is swallowed up by the darkness waiting in the tunnels beneath the home they thought they knew.

Oh my goodness, that book sounds absolutely terrifying! Give me my romance novels please!!
Yikes!! On the other hand, you kitties look so adorable! I just want to curl up with Ivy and take a cat nap with her, lol. I’m glad you got your roof leaks fixed so quickly. And it was so nice of your friend to come back for another visit. It sounds like you’re having a nice time reconnecting with each other. I love your Sunday Snippets.
