  1. I really like the modern farmhouse kitchen trend. If I were to redo a kitchen now, I think I’d go with that look, because I love the blend of modern and rustic. And I’m with you on gray – it has never appealed to me.

  2. There were a couple that I wish were my kitchen. I was surprised that I kind of liked the “moody” kitchen. I think the wood countertops and floor really warmed it up.

  3. While I wasn’t crazy about the dark, moody kitchen, I liked all the rest. I like open, airy, bright kitchen spaces. I think I could be happy in many different styles of homes.

  4. I think the modern farmhouse look is very attractive. Like the kitchens you’ve shown here. Never really liked the current modern look so many people have of just a white and grey kitchen. Just reminds me of a cold winter day. But to each their own.
I think the touch of wood or some natural element and some amount of color add a lot of warmth to a space.

  5. I’m in the middle of a kitchen refresh so any and all suggestions are welcome. I’ve chosen the main components but still have to decide on the hardware and electrical outlets. These are my favorite types of posts. Thanks!

  6. Beautiful photos. I am attempting today to make a light airy valance for a small window that has a shade I pull down at night. I want to try whipstitch together some of my grandma’s hankies for the valance. I still like a little something to add to a window and like you say, the antique towels added to that bar make it look better.

  7. I’ve never cared for a contemporary style – has always felt a bit ‘cold’ to me. With that said I do like a cleaner look – things I loved mixed in here and there. Similar to your apartment.

    1. I am glad that I don’t go by what is trending. Pretty as these are I do my own thing. But I do love to see what everyone is doing. I watch a lot of you tube decorating shows as I love seeing all of the different styles. I could never afford to change things out as often as some people do. But I guess that they have to change things or they wouldn’t have anything to film.
